Hi, my name is Tracie.  I live in Phoenix, Arizona, but my story starts in Effort, Pennsylvania.  I have lived in many places, including Long Island, but graduated high school in PA.

After graduation I decided, to my parent's disappointment, that I didn't want to go to college.  I moved to NY and lived with a friend. I worked doing clerical and office work for about a year and a half.  I  finally realized that it wasn't for me.  I moved back home to PA and started school. Four years later I graduated from East Stroudsburg University with a dual major in Early Childhood and Elementary Education.

I substituted for two years in several districts in my area with little prospects for a job.  A cousin of mine, who lived close by, suggested that we should move to an area with a better economical situation.  So, we decided Phoenix was the place for us.  Another cousin decided to join us and we packed our bags.

We arrived in Phoenix on Halloween 1997.  We didn't have jobs, so I took the first position I found, which was not teaching.  I started off as an Administrative Assistant to the Dir. of the MIS Dept of a telemarketing company.  But slowly I was integrated into installing hardware and software etc.

It was around this time when I met Cyril.  We were married in May 1999.  Soon after I started applying to different schools for teaching positions.  I was hired as a 2nd grade teacher at a Acclaim Charter School.  I taught second grade for three years.  This year I was offered the position of Technology Coordinator/ Librarian.  I accepted, eager to try something new.  It is working well and I do enjoy it.  Now I see all the students in the school K-8.  I enjoy the older students much more than I would have anticipated.  I do want to go back to a classroom eventually, but I'm not certain what grade suits me now.

Cyril and I don't have any children, but are planning to start next year or so, to upset of my two cats.  They don't like strangers or change. They are very spoiled and won't like having to share the attention!
